WBG GLOBAL Financial Services LLC (“WBG”, “we”, “our” or “us”) operates the www.Wbg.global website, platform and related technology services. This Privacy Notice explains how we collect, use, disclose, transfer, retain and protect personal data when you visit https://wbg.global /  (the “Website”), contact us, use our website to use our services.

For the processing described in this Notice, WBG is the controller of your personal data. Our contact details are set out in section 16.

This Notice describes our handling of personal data under applicable United Arab Emirates data protection law, including Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021 on the Protection of Personal Data (the “UAE PDPL”) and its implementing regulations, to the extent that they apply to the relevant processing. Where other data protection laws apply to particular processing, we will comply with those laws in respect of that processing.

2. When WBG is not the controller

Where WBG processes personal data on behalf of a business customer – for example, technical, transaction or support data processed through our website on that customer’s documented instructions – that customer is the controller and WBG acts as a processor.

In those cases, the customer’s own privacy notice governs the processing, and individuals should direct their requests to that customer in the first instance. This Notice describes only the processing for which WBG itself determines the purposes and means.

3. Personal data we collect

Depending on how you interact with us, we may collect:

  • Business contact data – name, business email address, telephone number, job title, employer and other contact details.
  • Company and commercial data – company name, industry, country, business model information and details of your interest in our services.
  • Enquiry and engagement data – information submitted through contact, sales, demonstration, partnership or support forms, and records of our correspondence with you.
  • Technical data – IP address, browser type and version, device information, operating system, language settings, referring pages, access times, server and application logs, and similar identifiers.
  • Usage and analytics data – information about how the Website is accessed and used, where such technologies are enabled and, where required, consented to.

We do not intend for the Website to collect full payment card credentials, such as full card numbers, card verification values (CVV/CVC) or PINs, and you should not submit them to us.

We do not request or intentionally collect sensitive personal data through the Website unless it is necessary for a specific service and permitted under applicable law. Please do not submit sensitive personal data to us unless we have expressly asked for it.

4. How we collect personal data

We collect personal data directly from you when you complete a form, contact us, request a demonstration, correspond with us, register for an account.

We also collect data automatically through cookies, server logs and similar technologies as described in our Cookies Notice, and we may receive data from business customers, connected payment or technology partners, our affiliates, and publicly available or commercially available business sources.

5. How we use personal data

We may use personal data to:

  • operate, maintain, secure, troubleshoot and improve the Website and our technology services
  • respond to enquiries and to sales, demonstration, partnership and support requests
  • provide account, dashboard and platform functionality where applicable
  • provide technical reporting, analytics and service communications
  • transmit technical information to connected technology, or service partners where necessary to provide a service you have requested
  • prevent, detect and investigate misuse, fraud, security incidents and unlawful activity, and protect our systems and users
  • send business communications about our services, subject to section 8

6. Legal basis for processing

The UAE PDPL treats the consent of the data subject as the primary basis for processing personal data and permits processing without consent only in the specific cases set out in the law. Unlike some other data protection regimes, the UAE PDPL does not provide a general “legitimate interests” basis for processing.

Accordingly, we process personal data on one or more of the following bases, depending on the circumstances:

  • your consent, where we ask for it – for example for certain non-essential cookies or marketing communications
  • where processing is necessary to perform a contract to which you are a party, or to take steps at your request before entering into a contract
  • where processing is necessary for WBG to comply with obligations imposed on it by applicable law
  • where processing is necessary to initiate or defend claims of rights or legal proceedings, or in connection with judicial or security procedures
  • where processing is necessary to protect your interests
  • where the personal data has been made publicly available by you
  • in any other case permitted under the UAE PDPL or its implementing regulations.

Where you are located in a jurisdiction whose law recognizes additional lawful bases and that law applies to the processing, we may also rely on those bases where permitted.

Where processing is based on your consent, you may withdraw that consent at any time by contacting us. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal and may mean we can no longer provide a particular feature.

Please do not submit sensitive authentication data, credentials, sensitive personal data, or third-party personal data you are not entitled to disclose when interacting with the website.

You can opt out at any time using the unsubscribe link in the relevant message or by contacting info@wbg.global We will continue to send service and transactional messages necessary for the operation of the services you use.

7. Automated decision-making

You have the right to object to, and not to be subject to, decisions based on automated processing that produce legal consequences concerning you or that seriously affect you, including profiling.

WBG does not use automated decision-making of that kind through the Website If this changes, we will update this Notice and provide the information required by applicable law before the processing begins.

8. Sharing of personal data

We may share personal data, where necessary and lawful, with:

  • our affiliated entities and internal service teams
  • licensed financial institutions, , payment service providers and other partners involved in delivering a requested technology service
  • cloud hosting, infrastructure, cybersecurity, analytics, communications, customer-relationship and artificial-intelligence service providers acting on our behalf under contract
  • professional advisers, auditors, insurers and legal counsel
  • regulators, courts, law-enforcement and government authorities where required or permitted by law
  • a prospective or actual acquirer, investor or successor in the context of a corporate transaction, subject to appropriate confidentiality protections
  • other parties where you direct us to share the information or where disclosure is otherwise lawful.

We do not sell personal data.

9. International transfers

Personal data may be processed, stored or transferred outside the United Arab Emirates, including by our service providers and infrastructure partners.

Where we transfer personal data outside the UAE, we do so only where a lawful transfer mechanism is available under applicable law – for example where the receiving jurisdiction provides an adequate level of protection, where appropriate contractual safeguards are in place, where the transfer is necessary for the performance of a contract, or where your express consent has been obtained – and we take reasonable steps to ensure the data remains protected.

Our website infrastructure, including the infrastructure used to operate is hosted in Singapore

Personal data processed through the Website is therefore processed outside the United Arab Emirates, in reliance on the mechanisms described above. We will update this section if our processing locations change.

10. Data security

WBG maintains administrative, technical and organizational measures designed to protect personal data against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, loss, destruction and other unlawful or accidental processing. These include access controls, encryption in transit, logging and monitoring, vulnerability management and personnel confidentiality obligations.

No method of internet transmission or electronic storage can be guaranteed to be completely secure. Where a personal data breach occurs, we will act in accordance with our incident response procedures and applicable legal notification requirements.

11. Data retention

We retain personal data only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Notice, taking into account the nature of the data, the purpose of processing, and our legal, regulatory, contractual and accounting obligations, and the need to resolve disputes and enforce agreements.

12. Your rights

Subject to applicable law and any lawful exemptions, you may have the right to:

  • request correction of inaccurate, incomplete or outdated personal data
  • request deletion of your personal data in the circumstances permitted by law
  • request restriction of, or object to, certain processing
  • request that your personal data be transferred to you or to another controller in a structured, commonly used format, where applicable
  • withdraw your consent where processing is based on consent
  • exercise any other right available to you under applicable data protection law.

Requests may be submitted to info@wbg.global . We may need to verify your identity and may request additional information reasonably necessary to process your request. We will respond within the period required by applicable law. There is normally no charge, although we may charge a reasonable fee or decline to act where a request is manifestly unfounded or excessive, to the extent permitted by law.

If you are not satisfied with our response, you may lodge a complaint with the UAE Data Office or with the competent data protection authority in your jurisdiction.

WBG uses cookies and similar technologies as described in our Cookies Notice. Some cookies, device or usage identifiers may constitute personal data, in which case they are handled in accordance with this Notice. You can manage non-essential cookie preferences through the Website controls where provided.

The Website may contain links to, or integrations with, third-party websites and services. WBG is not responsible for the privacy practices or content of independent third parties. You should review the relevant third-party privacy notices before providing personal data to them.

The Website and our services are intended for businesses and professional users and are not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children through the public Website.
